TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The FAMU DRS girls basketball team had quite the year, winning the Class 2A State Championship, their second straight, and their fourth in six seasons.
It's no secret that senior, and Louisville signee, Jazmine Jones led the young squad. Gatorade took notice, as on Thursday, Jones was announced the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Florida.
Jones averaged 22 points and nearly ten rebounds a game in leading the Baby Lady Rattlers to a 30-2 record this season. A National Player of the Year will be announced next week.
