TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Chris Jackson has long been one of the top receivers in the Big Bend. He's been committed to Marshall University since August, and on Friday, he made things official.

Jackson signed at his high school in front of family and friends to become a member of the Thundering Herd, where he'll enroll in January.

Jackson led the Baby Rattlers with nearly 1700 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns this season, and said he is happy to take the next step in his career.

"It just means a lot. It shows a lot of support that I didn't know I had," he said. "It just makes me want to do better when I get to college and it makes me want to do more. Marshall is the best environment for me. When I got there it felt just like home. Coaching staff, the players, the community is all behind the football team and behind the school."

Jackson also suited up on defense for FAMU DRS, tallying 20 interceptions and 145 tackles as a defensive back.
