LAKELAND, Fl. (WTXL) — After weeks of District tournaments and Regional games, this is it. Lakeland. The State Final Four. Two more wins to celebrate a State title for the two Big Bend girls teams that made it.

FAMU DRS made it back for their 9th straight year, and faced Canterbury in Monday's Class 3A State Semifinals.

Unfortunately, sloppy play came back to hurt the Baby Lady Rattlers, who fell 48-39.

"We started off lethargic and never got over the hump," said head coach Ericka Cromartie. "We didn't put it all together for a complete game, and we had no tenacity on defense. That's our staple, our defense, and we didn't pick it up and we just didn't find it at the right time. That's how it goes, we just thank God for the opportunity to be here. We wanted to come out victorious, but it just didn't happen that way."

The Baby Lady Rattlers lose just two seniors from this year's team.
