TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Last week, the FAMU DRS girls basketball team made history, as their 46-37 win over Carrollwood made them the first Big Bend girls basketball team to win three straight State Championships.

The Baby Lady Rattlers celebrated their three peat at a pep rally at the school on Thursday, with head coach Ericka Cromartie admitting this win means a little bit more than in years past. The Baby Ladies played a tough schedule this season, and while their record took a hit, it benefited them down the road.

"They appreciate the girls and their efforts, and it shows we're one big school and one big community," coach Cromartie said of Thursday's crowd, which included students and faculty. "To be a part of this program as a player and now as a coach, I couldn't have drew it up. I know that had to be God because I didn't even think about it like that. To be a part of it is just tremendous, and we'll just see what lies ahead. We're grateful for now, but we can't be complacent with where we are."

Coach Cromartie said they'll start doing individual workouts in the summer after taking some time off before gearing up for the four peat come fall.
