TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For one Louisville player, Tallahassee and the Tucker Center are very familiar territory.
Jazmine Jones is a 2016 grad of FAMU DRS. She is a junior for the Louisville Cardinals, and she's looking for a happy homecoming on Thursday when her team travels to Florida State for an ACC match-up.
Jones will have a lot of love in the stands. There will be a lot of Baby Rattlers cheering her on,young athletes who now look to her as inspiration.
"I think only one of the players we have played with her that we have left," said FAMU DRS girls basketball coach Ericka Cromartie. "It's a brand new regime with this group, and they're young, so I think this will be like a selling point like look, if you continue to buy in with what we're teaching you, you can become the next Jazmine Jones, or better than her. Not in a competition way, but just as keeping tradition going on for the program."
Jones is leaving a lot to live up too. She's averaging seven points and nearly five rebounds a game, and as a Baby Lady Rattler, she won four State Championships.
