HAVANA, Fla. (WTXL) - The East Gadsden boys basketball team captured the Class 4A District 2 title this season, and made it to the Elite Eight for falling to Bolles. Three Jaguars have now inked to continue their careers in college, and the latest signed Monday.
Forward Devonte Sipling signed a scholarship on Monday, choosing L.B. Wallace to spend his next two years. Sipling picked up basketball in his sophomore year of high school, so the fact he gets to continue his career and education at the next level is even more remarkable.
"It's a blessing, you know? It's been a dream for a long time," he said Monday. "I was introduced to basketball in the 10th grade, and I'm an upcoming senior. I made it a long way from the 10th grade until now so it's pretty special. It took some time to get here, but I made it."
Sipling said he hasn't decided on a major as of yet.
