TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 1, 2015) – For the first time this season the TCC baseball team loses at home.  The Tallahassee Community College Eagles dropped the final game of an abbreviated series with Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at Eagle Field.  The Eagle are now 10-7.

The teams split two games over the weekend after rain wiped out Saturday's scheduled game two. Sunday was the Eagles' first loss in five games to Chattahoochee Valley, dating back to last season.

Starting pitcher Chad Mabini struggled to find his groove early on, and the Eagles fell behind 2-0 after one half inning.

In the third inning, the Eagles came back to take the lead with three runs of their own.  Tyler Kinard scored on a double from DJ McKnight that went into deep left field and down the line.  Later in the inning, Zach Featherstone brought home McKnight with a single to centerfield.  Next, a Robert Henderson single to shallow leftfield allowed Tyler Atwell to score from second.

Chattahoochee Valley tied the game in the sixth and regained the lead with a run in the eighth.

Both Featherstone and Henderson went 2-for-4 with an RBI to pace the Eagles offensively.

Mabini ended up going five innings and was charged with three runs. He struck out one.

Craig Wilson who was charged with the loss, entered the game in relief and went 2.1 innings. He is now 2-1 this season.
