TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 21, 2015) - Tallahassee Community College finished up its non-conference schedule Saturday afternoon with an 8-7, 10-inning win over East Georgia State College at Eagle Field. Chad Mabini came through with the game winning hit in the 10th inning.

Tallahassee is 23-10 overall and will look to turn around its 1-2 Panhandle Conference record when it opens a three-game series with Northwest Florida State College on Monday.

The Eagles scored the game-winning run on Chad Mabini’s two-out single in the bottom of the tenth. Small ball helped pushed across the winning run.

Ethan Crout reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second to move into scoring position for Mabini. He was hitless in four at-bats before coming through for the game-winner.

Cameron Paley, the last of five Tallahassee pitchers, tossed a scoreless tenth to earn the victory.

Extra innings didn’t seem like a possibility until the Eagles watched a 7-2 lead evaporate in the eighth as East Georgia State plated five runs to tie the game.

Up until that point, Tallahassee had the game in hand.

Cody Fulton’s three-run double keyed a five-run outburst in the bottom of the first and Geremy Walton’s two-run single in the fifth resulted in a 7-2 lead for the Eagles.

In between, the Bobcats’ only two runs came in the second against Tallahassee starter Rion Murrah, who allowed three hits over five innings.

D.J. McKnight (2-for-5), Fulton (2-for-2) and Walton (2-for-5) had multi-hit games for the Eagles. Both Fulton and Walton drove in three runs while McKnight and Tyler Atwell scored two runs each.

Tallahassee’s three-game set with the Raiders opens in Niceville at 6 p.m. Monday. The teams will return to Eagle Field for game two on Wednesday.
