QUINCY, Fl. (WTXL) - Last year, Crossroad Academy in Quincy burst onto the high school basketball scene, going 21-7 and making it to the Elite Eight in Class 2A.

Not a bad first varsity season. In year number two, the Scorpions are looking for more. They're 10-5 on the year and 4-0 in District play. Their schedule so far has been tough, as all of their losses are to bigger schools. That's done deliberately.

This group doesn't want to talk about the future too much, they know the road to Lakeland will go through Impact Christian, who knocked them out last year, and everything they're doing now is in preparation for that game.

"I'm a coach that likes to take it one game at a time, but with this team, we are growing as a group," said head coach Andonte Gennie. "I've checked Impact out one time this year and I think our chances are better this year if we just come prepared and ready to play, I think we'll do a good job of getting to State."
