HAVANA, Fla. (WTXL) - High school football practice kicks off on August the 3rd, with contact allowed for the first time five days later on the 8th. The East Gadsden Jaguars have used the past few months to get reacquainted with a familiar face, and to work on improving from last year's winless season.

After two years coach at Florida A&M, former East Gadsden head coach Corey Fuller is back as the leader of the Jaguars, a role he filled from the 2010 to 2012 seasons, and a reign that included a trip to the Class 4A Final Four in 2011.

Fuller admitted Monday it's been a smooth transition in the five months since he took over, and added the kids have had to make the adjustment to the way he does things. He said overall, everyone is happy to be working towards the same goal, and Fuller couldn't be more excited to be leading them.

"This place is like a second home to me," he said. "They treat me like royalty over here to be honest. I couldn't be any more elated to be here. That's why I took the job coming back here with open arms. The superintendent, the school system, the high school, they support me very well. The community, they rally behind me. The only problem I have is that just because I'm back, they think we're going to win. A lot of work goes into that, but we hope the results be what they're looking for."

Georgia high schools kick off full contact practice on Saturday.
