MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) - For so many athletes, returning home is important. They get a chance to give back to the community that raised them, and for former Colquitt County Packer and Florida State Seminole Cam Erving, Friday was the day as he hosted his first football camp.
Over 130 campers showed up for year one, taking over the Packer's brand new indoor practice facility to train, learn the game and receive instruction from some of the best Moultrie has ever seen.
The former Seminole was joined by fellow NFL and former college football stars, and Big Erv happy to be back where it all began.
"To just be back in my hometown, these are just the things I wish I had growing up," he said Friday. "I just want to be able to give back and contribute and make an impact on kids. I want to let them know that it's not just about football. Football is a big part of my life, it's been a huge blessing to me, but it's not the only thing out there and that's what I want to relay to the kids in my community."
