TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — On Wednesday night, Florida State walked off over North Florida. The walk-off kept the Seminoles perfect on the year, and put head coach Mike Martin within two wins of career number 2000. Eleven is as humble as they come. We talked about if that moment were to happen and what it would mean before this season started during a one on one interview, and the head coach was kind of speechless.

"I think that one is going to mean something. I'm not going to sit here and say it's not going to mean anything or it won't mean anything," he said. "I'll always remember what Stan Wilcox, the athletic director, said to me last year. Basically asked me to come back another year, and said 2000 is a good round number Mike. It made me feel good. I'll always remember that. What will make all the sense in the world to me is that it won't be Mike Martin's 2000th, it will be Florida State's Mike Martin. That is what this is all about for me."

Florida State opens a three game series with Virginia Tech on Friday night. First pitch is at 6:00, where they look to get that first win of two. Because of threatening weather on Sunday, there will now be a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon. Tickets for Saturday and Sunday's game will be good for admittance for the doubleheader on Saturday.

The stadium will not be cleared between games and there is no re-entry. Reserved seats for Saturday's game will be honored for the first game and reserved seats for Sunday's game will be honored for the second game.
