Wakulla product's "team first" attitude impressing Florida State coaches

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Florida State Seminoles host N.C. State this weekend, and this week head coach Willie Taggart's talked a lot about guys embracing a team concept. One of the guys Taggart is praising? Wakulla product Keith Gavin.

Statistically, this has not been the year Gavin's wanted, but he's doing big things -- throwing blocks when needed and opening up a path for other guys to succeed. That's exactly what coach is looking for out of this team.

"To be honest with you, there's a lot of guys that wanted the ball, but they really embraced the team concept, and they made plays when it came to it," said Taggart Monday. "They didn't have a lot of balls, but when the ball did come to them, they made the plays, and to me, that's who I want our football team to be, and our guys are embracing it. The more they embrace it, the more they play for one another, I think the better results we're going to get out of our team."

Saturday's match-up with the Wolfpack is set for a 7:30 kick-off at Doak Campbell Stadium.
