TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — After consistent rain throughout the day in Tallahassee on Wednesday, field conditions at JoAnne Graf Field were not able to become safely playable, forcing a cancellation of the game between No. 8 Florida State (7-4) and RV UCF (13-2). The two schools will work to try and find a date and location to reschedule the game for later this season.

“You can’t do much about Mother Nature, we are an outdoor sport, so that is part of it,” said FSU head coach Lonni Alameda. “We can only control the controllables, and we’ll reschedule and have a chance to play against them at some point.”

The Seminoles will hit the road this weekend for the Wooo Pig Classic, hosted by No. 21 Arkansas on February 28-March 1. Florida State will play a total of five games against the Razorbacks, No. 19 Baylor, Kent State and Villanova. Links for live stats and the broadcast for the game against Arkansas will be available on the softball schedule page on Seminoles.com.

Fans can listen to the FSU softball coaching staff, head coach Lonni Alameda and assistant coaches Travis Wilson and Troy Cameron, on their weekly podcast: Coaches and Coffee – The FSU Softball Podcast.
