TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — At times it wasn't pretty, but a win is a win and the Florida State football team got their first of the season on Saturday thanks to an impressive performance by Jordan Travis at quarterback.

Now the Seminoles are focused on the future.

It's a future that has Travis at the center of this offense.

Head coach Mike Norvell said Monday that the redshirt sophomore has established himself as the starter as the Seminoles get ready for a road game at Notre Dame.

One thing that's different this week than in weeks prior, Florida State is entering its next match-up with a win, and that breeds certain confidences, even if this team still has a lot they need to improve on.

"Seeing the guys in the locker room after the game and then really their approach, they embrace the challenge," said Norvell. "They understand there's so much work that we have to do and continue to become more consistent. In a lot of areas for us to improve in all phases, so they're embracing the work, they're embracing the challenge, and at the end of the day, our best ball is in front of us."

That match-up Saturday has a 7:30 p.m. kick-off.
