TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) — Florida State baseball is headed out of town this weekend for a road series with the Duke Blue Devils.
Noles ranked 14th in the country and sit on a 9-3 record, while the Blue Devils come in at #12 with a 10-2 record so far.
FSU expects a tough weekend but excited to get on the road.
"We love going on the road," explained Chase Haney. "We love seeing what we're made of on the road playing in those big environments, those ACC environments. I think we have a really good team, we have a really young team, so it's good for them to get on the road and play some good talent."
One of those young players is freshman pitcher Parker Messick. He said he and his freshmen buddies are real excited to get to Durham. "We have class together, most of the team, and we were talking about how we just can't wait to get on the plane and head off. And for a lot of freshmen, it's our first time getting to travel with the team, so we're all just really excited and can't wait."
First game of the series is Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
