LOUISVILLE, Ky.No. 22 Florida State (35-20, 17-13 ACC) dropped its regular season finale at No. 8 Louisville (43-13, 21-9) Saturday, falling 11-0 at Patterson Stadium. With the win, the Cardinals locked up the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament that FSU has won each of the past two seasons. FSU’s seed will be determined at the conclusion of games Saturday.

Box Score

The Cardinals scored four runs against Conor Grady (8-5) and led 8-0 through four innings, scoring in each frame. The Seminoles had runners on base each of the first four innings, but all six runners were stranded against Bobby Miller (5-1). Nander De Sedas and J.C. Flowers had FSU’s two hits.

Antonio Velez, Clayton Kwiatkowski, Chase Haney, Shane Drohan and Flowers pitched seven innings in relief, combining to allow seven runs on 12 hits.

FSU was shut out for the eighth time this season.

OF NOTE

  • Mat Nelson was hit by a pitch in his first plate appearance. He has been hit by a pitch 14 times this season, most for a Nole since John Sansone also was hit 14 times in 2016.

UP NEXT

FSU will play in the ACC Tournament in Durham, N.C., beginning Tuesday. FSU’s seeding and playing dates will be finalized Saturday night or Sunday morning.
