TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida State football team picked up their first conference win of the season and upset the fifth-ranked team in the country in doing so.

The last time an unranked Florida State football team beat a top-five opponent in Doak Campbell Stadium was 1965. So after downing North Carolina Saturday night you know this team celebrated the win

The Seminoles are focused and moving forward. Head coach Mike Norvell said Monday that this team played as good of football as you're going to see in the first half. In the second half, he knows there are things they need to correct.

"That was for this team," Norvell said. "At the end of the day, the work that our guys have put in, the commitment to growth, the commitment to change, the commitment to trying to be the best version of them."

Now, the goal is to respond and get better every day. Norvell noted on Monday their success Saturday night couldn't be done without the support of everyone else.

"I thought the atmosphere, for being limited capacity, the atmosphere was incredible," said Norvell. :I thought the Marching Chiefs did an incredible job, it was good to see them in full effect there in the end zone. It was a great atmosphere for our team and a big win for our program, and just to continue to build upon what we're trying to do and that's getting better each and every single week."

Up next for the Noles is Louisville on the road. Kick-off is set for noon.
