TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (SEMINOLES.COM) — Senior All-American John Pak’s second-place finish led the pack of impressive scores for the Florida State men’s golf team, as they conclude the weekend as the champions of the Seminole Intercollegiate held at Golden Eagle Country Club in Tallahassee.
The seventh-ranked Seminoles won by nine strokes over No. 13 Oklahoma State (-17) and No. 1 Oklahoma (-12). The Noles’ win on Sunday afternoon is their second tournament win of the season, as they won the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational earlier this year.
“I’m extremely happy for them,” FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. “It’s still a golf team where – we had three newcomers play this week – and they haven’t played a tournament out here and had not played a ton of golf at Golden Eagle until the last couple of weeks when we did our preparation. I’m proud of how our guys won a golf tournament on a really good golf course and against a really good field.”

Pak shot the lowest score of the third round at 5-under 67, which is his best one-round score this season, to bring his total on the weekend to 10-under (69-70-67). His second-place finish overall is his best finish since last year’s Seminole Intercollegiate, where he was the individual champion.
Redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson had an outstanding day of 2-under 70 to put him at 6-under (71-69-70) to finish the tournament. His combined score of 210 over three rounds gives him his best score during his career at FSU, as he was tied for sixth overall among all players this weekend.
Both Pak and Anderson were placed in the top 10 overall and all five FSU golfers were placed within the top 20 of the player’s leaderboard. All of the Seminole golfers also finished with below-par scores, the only team to do so over the three-day tournament.
Freshman Brett Roberts also had a stellar day for the Noles, as he put together a 1-under 71 score and 3-under (67-75-71) combined. His performance put him tied for 11th on the overall leaderboard.
Graduate transfer Vincent Norrman had four birdies on the day to give him 2-under (71-72-71) for the tournament. Freshman Frederik Kjettrup also shot 2-under (70-71-73) over the course of the weekend, which puts him and Norrman tied for 16th overall.
The FSU B-team tied for 10th in the tournament, as senior Connor Futrell had their best score with 1-over (74-69-74) and was tied for 27th overall on the weekend. Sophomore Fletcher Wunderlich shot the low round of the day for the B-team at even-par 72 and finished the meet tied for 36th at 5-over (72-77-72).
Pak was tied for the lowest par-three average over the weekend, along with Norrman being tied for second in scoring the lowest par-five averages. FSU also finished with the second-most birdies and was tied for the most eagles as well.
The Seminoles will look to carry their momentum into next week, as their next tournament will be at Cabo TPC San Antonio on Mar. 1.
