TALLAHASSEE, Fl. — Two members of the Florida State soccer team have been named to the 2019 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Junior defender Gabby Carle and sophomore forward Kristina Lynch were voted to the All-District first team. Carle has a 4.0 GPA in Exercise Physiology and has started in all 16 games she has played in on the backline of the Florida State defense. Carle has one goal and two assists so far this season. Lynch has been a key reserve for the Seminoles playing in 15 games and recording two goals. Lynch has a 4.0 GPA in Biological Science.
Honorees selected to the All-District first team advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in December. A combination of academic and athletic performance is evaluated in the selection process at the district and national levels.
To be eligible for consideration for CoSIDA Academic All-District and CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have completed one calendar year academically at their institution prior to nomination. Nominees must also be a starter or key reserve who has played in at least 50 percent of the team’s games at the position listed on the nomination form and hold a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
