TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Florida State football player has recovered from the coronavirus and is issuing a warning: Please take this seriously.
Andrew Boselli, an offensive lineman for the Seminoles, tested positive for the virus last month. His dad, a former Jacksonville Jaguar, spent three days in the ICU recovering.
"I don't even think of my dad in the risk group as to what they were telling us originally, at all," said Boselli. "The fact that he got put in the hospital, I wouldn't want anyone my age or anyone really, or anyone they love at a serious risk of them being careless. Anything I can do to raise awareness and take this thing seriously, I'll do whatever I can."
Boselli's mother and brother also tested positive, and while the entire family has since recovered, he's telling everyone to please listen to the warnings.
"Practice social distancing," Boselli said. "Practice what is being asked of us. One, to take care of yourself and those around you, and you could also be impacting someone you don't even know, putting them in a critical situation. On top of all that, the more seriously we take this, the sooner we get to do the things we love to do: Be together."
Boselli said the support from Florida State was tremendous. he said every single coach on staff called him within 48 hours of his diagnosis.
Boselli said he's ready to get back to work whenever it's safe to do so.
