FSU men's basketball jumps up to No. 10 in most recent AP poll

(AP) — The Florida State men's basketball team (13-2) jumped up to No. 10 in this week's AP poll after beating Louisville on Saturday.

Florida State did the honors at Louisville as M.J. Walker scored 23 points to lead the 18th-ranked Seminoles to a 78-65 victory over the No. 7 Cardinals. Trent Forrest added 20 points on 9-of-11 from the field for the ‘Noles, who shot 55% for the game and nailed a season-high 11 of 23 3-pointers.

Louisville fell to 11-3 despite preseason All-American Jordan Nwora (NOHR’-ah), who matched a career high with 32 points.

Memphis ended a 10-game winning streak as Rayshaun Hammonds scored 15 points and Anthony Edwards added 13 to carry Georgia to a 65-62 victory against the ninth-ranked Tigers. Donnell Gresham Jr. chipped in 12 points for the Bulldogs, who closed on a 6-1 run to drop Memphis to 12-2.

No. 10 Villanova was knocked off on the road as Markus Howard scored 29 points in Marquette’s 71-60 upset of the Wildcats. The Golden Eagles shot over 55% from the field in the first half and led by as many as 20 before ending Villanova’s six-game winning streak.

Cole Swider and Justin Moore each had 14 points for the Wildcats.

Five top-10 teams have been defeated over the last three days.
