TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — If the COVID-19 pandemic hadn't changed college football schedules, the Florida State Seminoles would be gearing up for a trip to Atlanta to face West Virginia this weekend.

Now, the Noles have to wait until September 12 to face Georgia Tech.

Head coach Mike Norvell said game preps for the Yellow Jackets are underway but they're still focusing a lot on themselves.

He said they're still treating this week as a game week and the plan is to have a mock game for the guys this weekend.

"Now that we have our kick time basically helping out guys understand what they can expect what they can plan to see in our pregame and go through the whole process," said Norvell. "It's really not that much different. We just moved everything back a week. This would be basically the normal week before Saturday of our first game."

The Noles' official opener against Georgia Tech is set for a 3:30 p.m. kick and you can watch it on ABC 27.
