TALLAHASSEE, Fl. - (seminoles.com) — Junior Beatrice Wallin won the individual championship, and the No. 11 ranked Florida State Women’s Golf Team won the team championship as play in the Eighth Annual Florida State Match-Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course came to a close. The individual win was the first of Wallin’s Seminole career while the team championship was the first of the year and the 19th career tournament win for Seminole Head Coach Amy Bond.

Wallin, who finished with three under par scores for the first time in her collegiate career, finished with a 12 under par score of 204. Her 12 under par score and 204 total set personal best scores for her Florida State career. Incredibly, Wallin was never more than one stroke over par and was as many as seven strokes under par during the tournament.

Wallin’s 12 under par and 204 total scores are both tournament records for the Florida State Match-Up. The previous record was 11 under par and 205 by Florida State’s Morgane Metraux in 2017.

The Seminoles under Bond won the tournament for the third time in the history of the event to become its first three-time team champion. The win was the Seminoles first since winning the Evans Tiger Derby at Auburn University in the spring of 2019 and is the 11th tournament championship in her 11 seasons as Florida State’s head coach. Bond has now coached her teams to 19 tournament victories in her career as a head coach.

“This win was a total team effort,” said Bond. “I am extremely proud of the way we handled the course and the conditions. With this being the first collegiate tournament at Seminole Legacy this is a very special win. I will remember and cherish this one for a long time. I am a proud coach!”

Florida State’s dominance in its signature home tournament was illustrated in the final individual standings as each of the five members of the Seminoles’ starting lineup finished in the top 10 of the final standings.

“My first win and it feels awesome,” said Wallin. “I’m very happy that I got to do it at our home event. Winning a collegiate event has been my goal for a while and I am so happy that I finally did it. I’m so happy that the rest of the team played well. I can’t wait for our next tournament and playing with this awesome team.”
