TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A day after Mike Norvell was hired as the new head coach of the Florida State football team there's already reportedly been a hire to his coaching staff.

Norvell told us Sunday that he was going to hire one of the best coaching staffs in the country, and with this first hire, it looks like he's delivering.

ESPN is reporting that current Auburn offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham is headed to Tallahassee.

Dillingham is familiar with Norvell and coached under Norvell for three seasons at Memphis and the two also worked together at Arizona State.

So what is Norvell looking for in an assistant coach? He said his phone has been ringing off the hook and there are many that will be a great fit at Florida State.

"When you look at the type of men that they are, that's going to be the number one deciding factor," said Norvell. "I want a coaching staff that are teachers first, relationship builders, then guys that can inspire our student athletes to go above and beyond in every aspect of their life, to be able to live in that championship model on the field, off the field, in the classroom, to inspire them to be better than what they think they can be."

More good news for Seminole fans?

Norvell confirmed that Odell Haggins isn't going anywhere. The new head coach said the longtime Nole will remain on the Seminole's staff when he appeared on an ACC Network show Monday morning.
