TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — With Mike Norvell now the head coach of the Florida State football team, the big question now is can he salvage this year's recruiting class?

Coach Norvell is not wasting any time hitting the road.

The early signing period starts December 18 and this signing class has lost six commits since Willie Taggart was fired, including three in the last week. Wakulla's Keyshawn Greene is one of those decommits.

Norvell doesn't have strong ties in Florida. He admits recruiting is about relationship building and that's what he can't wait to do.

"Building relationships takes time, building trust takes time. You have to invest in it. The only way you get to build trust is by making daily deposits," said Norvell. "That's something I'm committed to doing with the high school coaches and recruits here, to be open and successful. That's going to be one of the top things on my priority list."

We did talk to Madison County's Zane Herring after the Cowboy's won State Saturday night, who said he planned to stay committed. He met Coach Norvell Monday, posting a picture on Twitter with the words: "Let's get to work."
