TALLAHASSEE, Fl. — Head coach Mike Martin, Jr. announced Florida State baseball’s 2020 schedule Tuesday, a 55-game slate that features 30 games against teams that played in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
“This is another tough, challenging schedule for our program,” Martin said. “We’ve put together a 33-game home schedule for our great fans and we’re looking forward to their support again this season.”
After 22 years as a Florida State assistant, Martin’s first games as head coach will be February 14-16, 2020, at Dick Howser Stadium against Niagara.
Starting with a February 21-23 series against Cincinnati, the Seminoles will play 16 of 17 games against postseason teams from a year ago. That includes a pair of games against both Florida Atlantic and Texas Tech in Tallahassee; the Noles played both teams in the postseason last year.
In the 30-game Atlantic Coast Conference schedule, the Noles will host Georgia Tech, the No. 3 national seed in 2019; Louisville, a 2019 College World Series team; NCAA regional teams NC State and Miami; and Notre Dame.
On the road, FSU will visit regional teams Duke and Clemson, as well as Pitt, Boston College and Wake Forest.
Among the Noles midweek opponents are three games each against Jacksonville, Stetson and Florida. The Gators will visit Tallahassee April 14, while the annual Florida-Florida State game at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville will be March 24.
Florida State is coming off a 42-23 record and its 23rd College World Series appearance in 2019. The Noles have won at least 40 games and reached the postseason in 42 consecutive seasons.
Television and streaming options will be available closer to the season opener.
