TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) — Sunday, October 20th brought in the #1 ranked North Carolina A&T football team to Tallahassee. The defending MEAC champions faced off against Florida A&M in what would become a very heated game.
Despite the fight that occurred between the Aggies and the Rattlers, both teams put on a fantastic game for fans. The game would go into overtime with the Rattlers coming out on top with a three point win.
The following day in North Carolina, an interesting comment was made by A&T's head coach Sam Washington. He said they lost to a "lesser team."
On Tuesday, Florida A&M head coach Willie Simmons addressed the media about the comment Washington made. He said, "Obviously, we are much better coaches than they are. We were able to take the lesser football team and beat them two years in a row. I don't know. Again, like I said before the game, looking at the record it says 6 and 1, 4 and 0 in conference play. There's no asterix beside it. It's all part of the fun in football. No one likes losing. Sometimes you just have to put your big boy pants on and take your whooping and go on to next week."
Up next for the Rattlers is an away game at Morgan State.
