TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Florida A&M Rattlers are battling a "like" opponent for the first time this season. In week one, they were over matched against FBS UCF. They topped Fort Valley State over the weekend, but they're a Division II team.
This weekend, it's FCS versus FCS, and what a match-up it is. Longtime rival Southern comes to Tallahassee, and FAMU head coach Willie Simmons is excited about a good game, and for a good time, in the Capital City.
"I know it's going to be an electric environment, packed house, two really good football teams, two of the best, if not the best, bands in America and two most loyal fan bases going toe to toe," he said Tuesday. "There's a lot of reasons this game is very important for the landscape of college football. I'm excited to be a part of it."
Saturday's match-up is set for a 6:00 kick at Bragg Memorial Stadium.
