TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Florida A&M Rattlers are fresh off that homecoming win over North Carolina Central, but they are not celebrating for too long. This weekend brings another MEAC test, and the Rattlers will be tested on the road as they are Orangeburg bound to face South Carolina State.
Both teams are undefeated in conference play, and the Rattlers bring in the top pass offense in the MEAC into this game. South Carolina State however, has the top pass defense. The Rattlers last three games have been close, decided by seven points or less, and FAMU is heading into this road match expecting another tough test.
"If we had won the last three games by 21 points a piece, we would still be coming in with the same mindset," said head coach Willie Simmons. "How do we improve upon that, how do we get better. Typically, when you leave a game, you see things that you left on the field. You know, we beat Fort Valley 57-20, and we came back and said, could we have not had a strong 70 or could we have not held them to a shutout."
Saturday's match-up set for a 2:00 kick.
