TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The MEAC Tournament is in the books, and the Florida A&M Rattlers are still riding the high of winning it. It's their first title since 2015, and with a conference title comes a berth in the NCAA Baseball Championships, meaning the Rattlers are one of 64 teams that'll be playing in a Regional.
After a crazy year, head coach Jamey Shouppe couldn't be more proud of this team.
"To start the season 0-6, to endure another 0-5 stretch and to endure another 0-7 stretch, and to win 14 of the last 18 conference games, including the tournament is a remarkable accomplishment," he said Tuesday. "I can't wait to see the guys watch on TV when their name is called, where we're going and where we play. We're excited to be in the tournament. We're going to go see what we can do."
The Rattlers, and the rest of the country, find out Monday where they're headed for Regionals. That's when the selection show is, and it starts at noon.
