College Football Playoff's trophy is unveiled

IRVING, Texas  - Gone is the crystal ball, now a gold football-shaped trophy will be the prize for the national champion in the new College Football Playoff.

Bill Hancock, the executive director of the College Football Playoff unveiled the trophy Monday at a press conference. The trophy is ade from 24-karat gold and is described by Hancock as a priceless work of art.

The first national championship game is scheduled for Jan. 12 in Arlington, Texas.
