TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Chiles and Lincoln squared off Friday night at Leon High School in the Class 8A District 1 Championship game.
The Timberwolves were steered by the pitching of Shayne O'Connell, who sat down 11 Trojan batters and allowed just three hits in the 10-1 win. Sophomore Caroline Jacobsen had two home runs.
Chiles will host the first round of Regional play with the win, while Lincoln will travel. Godby won the Class 5A District 2 title on Friday night with the 8-2 win over Marianna, while North Florida Christian fell to Rocky Bayou in the Class 3A District 1 title game.
In boys lacrosse, the Maclay Marauders punched their ticket to the second round of the play-offs with the 17-2 win over Gulf Breeze. Maclay will host Bolles on Tuesday in second round play.
