TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For almost five decades, runners have descended on the Capital City for the Tallahassee Marathon. This Sunday, marks year number 46 for the Marathon, and just like in previous years, it should be another fun event.
Around 1,000 runners are taking part this year, either running a marathon, marathon relay, or half marathon. The athletes come from dozens of states and several different countries, but all have the same goal - to cross that finish line and celebrate all the training it took to get here.
"If you're running the full marathon and you make that final turn and you see that finish line, it is a sweet, sweet time," said race coordinator Sheryl Rosen. "It just all comes together hopefully for you on race day and you get that smile, you get that medal around your neck, you get that toast with your buddies afterwords, that's what we're here for, that's what it's all about."
