ATLANTA (AP) - Former Cal Poly co-offensive coordinator Bryan Cook has returned to Georgia Tech as an offensive assistant for coach Paul Johnson.
Cook is replacing Brian Bohannon as the quarterbacks and B-backs coach. The B-back is the running back which lines up behind the quarterback in Georgia Tech's spread-option offense. Cook helped direct a similar offense the last four years at Cal Poly.
Bohannon left Georgia Tech to become Kennesaw State's first coach.
Cook was a graduate assistant at Georgia Tech from 2001-03.
Cal Poly finished 9-3 last season and advanced to the second round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. Cook coached Cal Poly's quarterbacks and fullbacks.
Prior to joining the Cal Poly staff in 2009, Cook was the head coach at West Point Prep in Monmouth, N.J.
