Brooks County Working On The Mental Game

QUITMAN, Fl. (WTXL) - In Quitman, the Brooks County Trojans are hard at work in these final few weeks before fall camp officially kicks off.

Head coach Maurice Freeman has a lot of returners on this squad, and the leadership from them has been spot on this summer.

The Trojans are coming off a second round playoff appearance, and while they're working hard to get back there, weights and conditioning can only do so much. A lot of the game of football is mental.

"We're really working with our guys on how to handle adversity. We need to know when things get a little rough, how will you function?" said Freeman. "Will you keep your head, and continue to function, and function in a way we need you to function as a unit. Will you be the guy that says hey man, forget that play, let's go, we can get this thing done, or will you continue to pound on that play and get aggravated and not work as hard as you should?"

Brooks County opens the regular season on the road at Cook on August the 18th.
