Boys Soccer Teams Celebrate District Championships Friday

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Thursday night wasn't a good night for Big Bend girls soccer teams. Out of five teams still in the hunt for a State Championship, no one was able to win their Regional Quarterfinal contests.

Boys teams begin the journey to State next week, but on Friday, several squads looked to win District Championships and secure home field advantage. At Lincoln High School, the Trojans faced off with Leon for the 4A-2 title. The two exchanged goals early, and Leon took the 2-1 advantage heading into halftime, holding on to win.

In Class 2A, the Florida High Seminoles handled Godby 5-0, while in Class 1A Maclay beat Port St. Joe 4-2.
