TALLAHASSEE, FL – Long time swim instructor Bob Ruth has been named the new boys and girls varsity swim coach at Maclay School. Ruth graduated from Penn State where he swam for the Nittany Lions and has been a well-recognized name in the Tallahassee swim community over the last 31 years.
“Bob has an extensive background in swimming in the Tallahassee area which makes him a perfect fit for our program at Maclay,” said Athletic Director Scott Eagen.
Ruth has coached senior swimmers as well as many nationally ranked masters swimmers and two Junior Olympic Champions. In 1993, he was listed as the 5th in the world in the 100 breast and nationally ranked in five other events. The Pittsburg native has been the director of the Bob Ruth Aquatic Club since 1983 and brings extensive talent and coaching experience to the Marauder swim program.
