Valdosta, GA (WTXL) -- With his 76th career win David Dean is now the winningest coach in Valdosta State history. Dean's Blazers finish off West Alabama 55-28.
"I'm very proud of our players," Coach Dean said. "We beat a good football team and a hot football team. One thing is, we brought a physical nature out to the field today, and we're really proud of our defense. Although we gave up some scores, we created a lot of turnovers, which is what it takes to beat those guys."
The Blazers improve to 6-2. Cedric O'Neal finished with 108 yards rushing and and another 106 yards through the air. He carried the offense with three touchdowns. On defense Kenny Moore return an interception 20 yards for a touchdown. It's the Blazers first interception return for a touchdown since November 16, 2013, when Jeremy Grable took an interception back against Texas A&M Kingsville. VSU travels to Cleveland, MS to take on Delta State Statesmen this Saturday.
