EMERSON, Ga. – For the third year in a row, the Florida State beach volleyball team will head into the semifinals of the CCSA Championship undefeated in pool play. The Seminoles took down LSU and Georgia State on Saturday (April 21) to finish at the top of their pool, and will face FIU in Sunday morning’s semifinal match.

FSU has yet to drop a match in the conference championships, and surrendered only one point in pool play this year for the first time. The Seminoles have now earned 10 sweeps in the conference championships and are 2-0 against all four opponents it saw in pool play this year.

FSU and South Carolina secured positions at the top of their respective pools, both going 4-0 over the first two days. LSU finished behind Florida State in Pool A and will face the Gamecocks in the second semifinal match.

The Seminoles swept South Carolina in 2016’s semifinal match, and took down FAU in 2017’s semifinal. The Seminoles have a perfect 6-0 pairs record in the championship matches. If Florida State advances, it will face the winner of LSU-South Carolina in the 2018 CCSA Championship title match.
