BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) - The Bainbridge Bearcats are a perfect 13-0 on the season. They're two wins away from a State Championship, so it's safe to say they don't have any plans of losing anytime soon.
To get to the Georgia Dome and the AAAA State title game, the Bearcats will have to get by Cartersville, who is also undefeated on the season.
Like the Bearcats, Cartersville has a deadly offense. The Hurricanes quarterback has thrown for over 3300 yards this season with 39 touchdowns, and they have a balanced run game. Bainbridge head coach Jeff Littleton, not worried. He said his defense is strong, and he trusts they'll get the job done Friday night.
The one thing Bainbridge does have? Confidence, and that's thanks to two nail biters coming in the last two weeks.
"They feel like they can trust each other," he said at practice this week. "They feel like they can trust the coaching staff. We just have to go out and execute the game plan and play hard. I mean, our kids have been thinking like that all year long. I think that's what's gotten us to that point. They can't be satisfied. They have to make sure they work hard every day."
The Bainbridge-Cartersville contest kicks off at Cartersville High School north of Atlanta at 7:30 Friday night.
