TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - After the 2015 season, the FAMU DRS Baby Rattler football program decided to part ways with longtime Head Coach Ira Reynolds after finishing the year 0-9.
The Baby Rattlers hired alum Rontarius Robinson, but in his first season, there wasn't much improvement, with DRS going 1-8.
Now the hunt is on for the Baby Rattlers third head coach in as many seasons. Dr. Kirk Gavin Robinson, DRS interim superintendent, said that Robinson did not re-apply for the head coaching job.
Gavin went on to say that the hiring process is closed, and that on Thursday, DRS was being advised on how to select a candidate by Florida A&M University.
WTXL has learned from an outside source that the search has been narrowed down to four candidates, and FAMU DRS looks to make a decision as soon as possible, as the goal is to have spring football this year.
