TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Two Big Bend softball teams hit the field Monday in Vero Beach, with one surviving to play for a State Championship Tuesday.
Aucilla Christian scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the first inning, and never looked back, winning 4-0. Abigail Morgan and Elizabeth Hightower combined for 16 strikeouts and a one hitter in the win.
They will face Academy at the Lakes Tuesday morning at 11:05 for the Class 2A State Championship.
In Class 1A, Madison County fell behind to Trenton, and despite scoring two runs in the bottom of the 7th, it was too little too late. The Cowgirls fell 6-3 to the Tigers, ending their season.
