AUCILLA, Fl. (WTXL) - The Aucilla Christian Lady Warrior basketball team is one of four Big Bend teams to seal up a spot in next week's State Final Four in Lakeland.
They will leave on Sunday for their Monday Final Four match-up with Calvary Christian, so on Friday, they got a fond farewell from their classmates.
"It means so much. That's the best part about Aucilla is that it's like a family," said Grant of the well wishes from the Aucilla community. "Everybody is there to support you. It's the best part about it, Aucilla."
"We have families that support us," said head coach Daryl Adams. "All the children look up to the older kids. There's so many little ones, shaking your hand, giving you high fives, wanting to sign autographs for them. It's a special place."
Aucilla Christian will play Calvary Christian on Monday in Lakeland in the Class 2A State Semifinals at 2:00. Lafayette plays Wildwood at noon Monday in Class 1A, while Class 3A FAMU DRS closes out the night at 6:00 when they play Orlando Christian.
The Lincoln Lady Trojans take on Winter Haven on Friday at 2:00 in the Class 8A State Semifinals.
