TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - New national rankings are out today in the AVCA Coaches Poll, and Florida State volleyball is up to No. 5 in the country, their highest ranking in program history.
"I'm very proud of the work this team has put in over the last month," FSU head coach Chris Poole said. "It's amazing to think that over half of the team is new this fall and the chemistry and support has been exceptional. The poll is only a reflection of what we have already accomplished but we need to focus on the future."
The Noles are also on a 13-match winning streak to start 2014, their most wins to begin any season in program history.
"We've been sloppy at times during the stretch," Poole said. "We still need our offense to flow better and our defense to be more aggressive. It's a work in progress but I love the potential of this team."
The Seminoles travel to Atlanta, Ga. next for an ACC matchup with Georgia Tech Friday, October 3.
