ASG U13 Boys Have Eyes Set On Regional Title

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - That old saying, teamwork makes the dream work applies to Warner ASG soccer's U13 boys.

"If we know each other, we're going to act better together," said Lincoln Gray. "We don't get in fights, we just play cool."

Playing cool helped this group win the U13 President's Cup, and now these boys, are the best in the State.

"I didn't believe it. We went all the way to overtime. It was just amazing!" exclaimed Noah Alford. "I went over and picked up one of my teammates actually. A lot of hard work paid off."

"That was our tenth game in President's Cup, so they had definitely played a lot of games up to that point," said head coach Bradley Blake. "They hustled and gave it everything they got and they came out with a victory."

That victory sealed up a spot in next week's Southern President's Cup, where they'll face teams from ten other States for the right to advance to Nationals.

"Everyone's really pumped. I would say 9/10, no, 10/10," smiled Noah.

"I would like to say, since it's our first time, I think that everybody is so proud to try and win this Regionals," added Lincoln.

Proud of themselves, proud of their club, and proud to represent the Big Bend.

"Tallahassee's somewhat isolated when it comes to that," said Coach Blake. "All the kids being able to come together and compete for a Championship and still come out victorious against those other Regions is really something special."

It'll be even more special, with a Regional title in tow.
