TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - 4Quarters Online, a high school football publication, hosted their Annual Media Days Tuesday afternoon in Tallahassee. Close to two dozen football teams stretching from Madison County to Panama City took part in the event.
Arguably the team with the biggest target on their back? The Godby Cougars, who finished the season Class 5A State Runners-up. The Cougars lost a lot of talent, but while they may be young age wise, head coach Todd Lanter said there will be a lot young talent on the field.
The team said they have been working hard in the offseason, and the bitter taste of silver is all the motivation they've needed.
"I am not happy that we lost," said defensive tackle Cedric Wood. "At the end of the day, I enjoyed the journey getting there and I think the journey we have coming up is going to be even better."
"As seniors we have the expectations to lead this group of guys back there," said quarterback Darius Bradwell. "We are just very grateful to the coaches around us for teaching us everything."
Non-contact practice starts on Monday, August 3rd for Florida high school teams. Contact practice starts five days later on the 8th.
