VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta State guard April Thomas is the Gulf South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Thomas earned the honor after averaging 16.3 points per game over three conference games. She shot 19-41 from the floor, including an 8-20 mark beyond the three-point line.
Thomas' top performance came against Alabama-Huntsville, where she hit five three-pointers and scored 24 total points in a comeback-victory over the Chargers.
Thomas' 14.8 points per game this season ranks sixth in the Gulf South Conference. This is the first time Thomas has been named GSC Player of the Week.
