TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State Women’s Basketball junior center Adut Bulgak has been recognized as the ESPNW National Player of the Week following her strong performances in wins over No. 25 Syracuse and Miami this past week.

She was also named ACC Co-Player of the Week along with Wake Forest’s Dearica Hamby. It marks the first time Bulgak has been honored by the conference.

Bulgak was mostly impressive on the glass in FSU’s 62-52 win over Syracuse and 80-60 victory over Miami. The Edmonton, Canada, resident averaged 16.5 rebounds in both games combined, pulling down 16 rebounds against the Orange and 17 boards against the Hurricanes.

Bulgak totaled double-doubles in each contest, finishing with 10 points to go with her 16 rebounds against Syracuse and posting a game-high 19 points along with her 17 boards against Miami. She also averaged three blocks per game in the two contests, which included four versus the Hurricanes.

The former JUCO National Player of the Year leads the ACC far and away in rebounding in conference play, averaging nearly 12 boards (11.9) against ACC competition. Her 12 double-doubles this year are tied for the second-most in school history and only trail Natasha Howard’s 15 she set last year.
