TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Last year’s Har-Tru USTA Pro Circuit Wild Card Challenge winner Alex Kuznetsov moved a step closer to claiming a spot in the main draw of the French Open on Wednesday with an opening-round win at the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger.
Matches had been delayed from a nearly rained-out Tuesday and were moved to an indoor hard court facility at Florida State University in order to dodge more rain.
Kuznetsov won 7-6 (0), 6-2 over lucky loser and fellow American Eric Quigley.
